Definition#
An interline agreement allows two or more airlines to handle passengers traveling on itineraries that include flights on more than one carrier. The airlines agree on ticketing, baggage transfer, and revenue proration rules.
Why It Matters Operationally#
Interline agreements are broader but less integrated than codeshares. They enable one-ticket bookings across non-allied carriers, improving connectivity at hubs where multiple airlines operate.
