Editorial Policy

Last updated:

1. Editorial purpose#

Aviatopia is an independent aviation reference platform. Its purpose is to explain how aviation works through structured guides, topic hubs, and glossary entries that are clear, technically grounded, and useful to curious readers.

Aviatopia is not a flight school, regulator, or operational authority. Content is educational reference material and should not be used as a substitute for certified training, official publications, or professional judgment.

2. Source selection#

Articles are researched using publicly available aviation material, including:

  • Official regulatory and safety publications
  • Manufacturer and operator documentation where applicable
  • Recognised training and reference material
  • Reputable technical and educational resources

Where a topic depends on precise facts, multiple sources are consulted when practical. Sources are chosen for relevance and reliability, not for promotional value.

3. Writing and review#

Content is written in original language and structured for readability. Technical terms are introduced with context rather than assumed knowledge.

Aviatopia is independently built and maintained. There is no separate editorial board or newsroom. Drafting, research, editing, and publication are the responsibility of the platform maintainer.

Some material may be drafted with AI assistance as part of the internal content workflow. Any such output is reviewed, edited, and published under human responsibility. Automated drafting does not replace editorial judgment.

4. Updates and maintenance#

Aviation standards, procedures, and technology change over time. Articles may be reviewed and updated when better explanations become available or when factual corrections are needed.

Published articles may display a Last updated date when that metadata is available. Minor wording changes that do not affect meaning may be made without notice.

5. Independence and conflicts#

Editorial content is created independently. Aviatopia does not publish sponsored editorial material.

If affiliate links, sponsorships, or similar commercial relationships are introduced in future, they will be disclosed clearly and kept separate from editorial judgment.

6. Corrections and contact#

Readers who identify a potential error are encouraged to report it. See the Corrections policy for how reports are handled, or use Suggest an edit to submit a specific correction with context.

For broader questions about the platform, use the Contact page.
